This is an English translation of the Privacy Policy originally written in Japanese. In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese version and this English translation, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Kamineko LLC (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") hereby establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of Users' personal information in connection with "Nyanko Database" (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") operated by the Company.
Article 1 (Information We Collect)
The Company collects the following information in connection with the provision of the Service.
1. Account Information
- Email address
- Username
- Password (stored in encrypted form)
2. Profile Information
- Self-introduction text
- Profile image
3. External Service Integration Information
When registering or authenticating using external service accounts such as Google or X (formerly Twitter), the following information may be obtained.
- User ID on the external service
- Public profile information (username, profile image, etc.)
- Email address (when provided by the external service settings)
4. Payment-Related Information
In connection with the purchase of Nyanko Coins (hereinafter referred to as "NC"), the following information is handled.
- Purchase history (purchase date/time, amount; based on logs transmitted from Stripe, Inc.)
- NC balance and expiration date information
- NC usage history (Oshi Neko Plan payments, Tip transfers, digital item acquisitions, etc.)
- Oshi Neko Plan subscription and cancellation history
- Tip transfer history
Credit card numbers and other payment method information are never stored on the Company's servers. The Company retains only purchase date/time and amount logs transmitted from Stripe, Inc.
5. User-Generated Content
- Reviews, comments, photos, Oshi Neko Diary entries, and all other content posted by Users on the Service
6. Usage Information
- Access logs (IP address, access date/time, browser information, OS information, referrer information)
- Activity history within the Service (pages viewed, search history, favorites, etc.)
- Device information (device type, screen size, etc.)
7. Additional Information for Shop Users
When registering as a Shop User, the following information is collected in addition to the above.
- Shop name, address, business hours, contact information, and other shop details
- Bank account information for distribution payments
- Oshi Neko Plan configuration details
8. Image Information from the Dare Nyan Feature
When using the "Dare Nyan" feature of the Service, the following information is collected.
- Images of cats captured by the User
- Location information at the time of capture (used to identify the cafe; only when the User has permitted the use of location services on their device)
Captured images are transmitted to an external AI service provided by Google LLC for the purpose of cat identification. Images may also be compressed and stored for the purpose of service improvement and operation. By pressing the capture button, the User is deemed to have consented to the above.
Article 2 (Purpose of Use)
The Company uses the collected information for the following purposes.
- Provision, operation, and improvement of the Service
- Creation and management of accounts
- NC purchase, balance management, and expiration management
- Oshi Neko Plan deduction processing and plan management
- Tip transfer processing
- Calculation and transfer of distribution payments to Shop Users
- Responding to inquiries from Users
- Notification of important matters such as maintenance, service changes, terms changes, and NC expiration
- Information about campaigns, bonuses, and new features (except when the User has opted out of such communications)
- Response to violations of the Terms of Service (including detection of unauthorized use)
- Provision of gamification features such as titles, badges, and rankings
- Statistical analysis of usage (conducted in a non-personally identifiable manner)
- Cat image matching through the Dare Nyan feature and improvement of its accuracy
- Purposes incidental to the above purposes of use
Article 3 (Disclosure to Third Parties)
1. Principle
The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the User's consent, except in the following cases.
2. Cases Where Disclosure Is Made Without Consent
- When required by law
- When necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body, or an entity entrusted by such body, in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the individual may impede the execution of such affairs
3. Information Provided to Shop Users
Shop Users may view the following information as part of the support history for the Oshi Neko Plans they have configured.
- Usernames and titles (if set) of General Users who have subscribed to the relevant plan
- Subscription date and renewal history
Email addresses and other contact information are not provided to Shop Users.
4. Provision to Service Providers
The Company may entrust all or part of the handling of personal information to third parties to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use. In such cases, the Company will enter into appropriate agreements with such service providers and exercise necessary and appropriate supervision.

5. Transmission to External Services for the Dare Nyan Feature
Images captured through the Dare Nyan feature are transmitted to an AI service provided by Google LLC for the purpose of cat identification processing. The handling of transmitted images by Google LLC is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). The Company does not provide images to any third parties other than those described above.

The Service integrates with the following external services. For information on how data is handled by each service, please refer to the respective service's privacy policy.

Article 5 (Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies)
1. Purpose of Cookie Use
The Service uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes.
- Maintaining login status
- Improving service convenience
- Analytics (Google Analytics)
- Advertising (Google AdSense)
2. Cookie Management
Users may refuse the acceptance of cookies through their browser settings. However, if cookies are refused, some features of the Service may become unavailable.
Article 6 (Data Storage)
1. Storage Location
Users' personal information is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers. Servers are located in Japan or the United States.
2. Payment Information Storage
Credit card numbers and other payment method information are never stored on the Company's servers. The Company stores only purchase date/time and amount logs transmitted from Stripe, Inc.
3. Data Retention Periods
- Account information: For the duration of the account's existence and until account deletion processing is completed after withdrawal
- Transaction history (NC purchase history, Oshi Neko Plan payment history, Tip transfer history, distribution payment history, etc.): Up to 7 years from the date of the transaction, in accordance with retention obligations under the Corporate Tax Act and other applicable laws
- User-generated content: Until deleted by the User, or may remain on the Service after anonymization processing upon account withdrawal (based on Article 14, Paragraph 5 of the Terms of Service)
- Access logs: Up to 1 year from the date of collection
- Inquiry content: Up to 3 years after completion of response
- Images captured through the Dare Nyan feature: Stored for the period necessary for service improvement and operation, and promptly deleted after the purpose has been fulfilled
4. Data Handling Upon Withdrawal
When a User withdraws from the Service, data will be handled as follows.
- Account information (email address, password, etc.) will be deleted.
- User-generated content may continue to be displayed after anonymization processing, such as changing the username to "Withdrawn User," based on Article 14, Paragraph 5 of the Terms of Service.
- Transaction history may be retained in anonymized form within the scope of retention obligations under applicable laws.
Article 7 (Security Measures)
The Company implements the following measures to prevent leakage, loss, and damage of personal information and to ensure the safe management of personal information.
- Encryption through SSL/TLS communication
- Password hashing (storage in an irreversible format)
- Implementation of server access restrictions
- Regular security monitoring
- Non-retention of payment information (delegated to Stripe)
Article 8 (Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion of Personal Information)
1. Disclosure Requests
Users may request the Company to disclose their personal information held by the Company. The Company will disclose such information without delay after verifying the identity of the requester. However, disclosure may be withheld in whole or in part in the following cases.
- When disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party
- When disclosure may significantly impede the proper execution of the Company's business
- When disclosure would violate applicable laws
2. Correction and Deletion
Users may request the correction or deletion of their personal information held by the Company if it contains errors, through the Company's prescribed procedures. The Company will take necessary measures without delay when the request is deemed legitimate.
3. Suspension of Use
Users may request the suspension of use or erasure of their personal information when the Company uses such information beyond the scope of the stated purposes of use, or when it has been obtained through improper means.

Article 9 (Personal Information of Minors)
Minors who use the Service should do so with the consent of their legal representative (parent or guardian). This Policy also applies to the handling of personal information of minors.
Article 10 (Changes to This Policy)
- The Company may change this Policy due to amendments to laws, changes to the Service, or other reasons.
- When changing this Policy, the Company shall publicize the amended content and the effective date a reasonable period before the effective date, by posting on the Service, sending an email to the registered email address, or other methods the Company deems appropriate.
- For changes that have a significant impact on Users' rights, such as additions to the purposes of use of personal information or expansion of the scope of third-party disclosures, the Company shall provide notification at least 30 days before the effective date.

Supplementary Provisions
This Policy shall take effect on March 28, 2026.
The previous Privacy Policy (v3) effective as of March 1, 2026 shall be abolished upon the effectuation of this Policy.
