Tiffanies are affectionate, social, and gently demanding of attention. Like their shorthaired Asian relatives, they bond deeply with their families and prefer constant companionship. They are playful and intelligent, enjoying interactive games and learning tricks with ease. Their vocal nature means they will "talk" to their owners regularly, using soft, musical voices. They are gentle with children and adapt well to multi-pet households. Despite their glamorous appearance, they are not aloof — they actively seek out human interaction and will follow their favorite person from room to room.

Personality
Features
Tiffanies are medium-sized cats with the elegant, muscular body of the Burmese. Their distinguishing feature is the semi-long, silky coat that lacks the dense undercoat of the Persian, making it less prone to matting. The coat is fine and flowing, with a full ruff around the neck and a plumed tail. They have a gently rounded head, large expressive eyes (typically golden to green), and wide-set ears. All Asian colors and patterns are accepted in the Tiffanie, including solid, smoke, shaded, tipped, and tabby.
History
The Asian Semi-Longhair, or Tiffanie, emerged from the same breeding program that produced the Asian cat group in the United Kingdom. When Burmese were crossed with Chinchilla Persians in the early 1980s, some kittens inherited the longhair gene, resulting in semi-longhaired Burmese-type cats. These beautiful cats were developed as the Tiffanie variety. The GCCF recognized the Tiffanie as part of the Asian group. Note: the Tiffanie should not be confused with the American Tiffany/Chantilly, which is a separate breed. The Tiffanie remains most popular in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe.
